Jon Rimanelli – CEO

Mr. Rimanelli is a Detroit native and graduate from Albion College. He is the founder of Nextronix, Inc. located in Romulus, MI. providing marketing services for design, engineering and manufacturing firms serving the automotive, aerospace, medical, military, consumer and telecommunications industries. In 2005, multi-band RF antennae systems design, engineering and manufacturing was added to deliver new antenna technology to the automotive market. He also Founder of RJR International, Inc., a domestic and foreign based market development company. He is a licensed Single Engine Land, Sea and Instrument rated pilot. He is active with the AOPAs Project Pilot Mentoring program. When not working or encouraging people to pursue aviation, you can find him doing laps around Belle Isle and landing up and down the Detroit River in his Lake Amphibian. His passion for Aviation and the City of Detroit inspired him to start Detroit Air Racing, Inc. to bring aviation motor sports and related activities to the City of Detroit.

Henry Tokarz - Chief Operating Officer

Working more than 20 years in finance and administration, Henry brings the perfect mix of corporate, small business and entrepreneurial experience to Detroit Air Racing. Henry served as Vice President of Finance & Administration for the Detroit Super Bowl XL Host Committee, where he was responsible for all Finance and Administration activities including corporate financial policy, human resources, financial reporting, information technology, banking relations, and risk management.

Prior to joining Detroit Air Racing, Henry, a native of metro Detroit, experienced success as the owner of multiple retail business operations, and as an independent financial consultant. His experience also includes positions at the following companies:Dykema, New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, BUDCO, Amstaff, Inc. and American Way Service Corp.

An avid sports fan and participant, Henry is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He resides in West Bloomfield, with his wife Ami, their children Calvin and Jordan, and their Labrador Retriever Hogan.

Christopher Polk – Marketing & Sponsorship

Christopher S. Polk is the principal and owner of Forte’ Management Group, Incorporated. Located in Detroit, MI., the marketing and fund-raising firm manages clients in outcome planning and implementation of multimedia services, corporate identity strategies as well as counsel on philanthropy. Chris also acts as a primary consultant for The Remington Group of Beverly Hills, Michigan. Chris is the grandson of Wardell A. Polk who was a member of the Tuskegee Airmen in WWII and held prominent roles in the organization until his death. Chris is a member of Detroit Economic Club, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Detroit Institute of Arts - Founders Junior Council and the Detroit Athletic Club. He is also a founder of the Legacy Associates Foundation (est. 1997) which is a non profit organization serving youth by providing educational support and funding for deserving students in the Detroit area

Kristine Volk – Communications Director

Kristine Volk, CPA, CMA is a Business Development Manager for Accretive Solutions – an executive search and professional services company. She is a graduate of Walsh College (Master of Science in Taxation) and Michigan State University (BBA in Accounting). Kristine is on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (17,000 members) and is involved in several other professional and aviation associations such is the German American Chamber of Commerce, Women in Aviation and International Council of Air Shows. She volunteers as the Distinguished Visitor Coordinator for a nuclear powered aircraft carrier (USS Theodore Roosevelt - CVN-71) and served as the 2005 Air Show Director for the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, MI (her hometown). She worked on other aviation/racing events in Michigan including the Chrysler Jeep Superstores APBA Gold Cup, Thunder over Michigan at the Willow Run Airport and the Selfridge Air National Guard Base Air Show. She is on the Board of Directors for the Detroit Navy League and Naval Sea Cadet Ship Grayfox plus serves on the Detroit Navy Recruiting District Advisory Committee and Navy Week Steering Committee. Her spare time is primarily spent flying in a Cirrus SR22 or photographing aviation related activities for publication.

Christos Moisides – Government Relations & Special Projects

Christos Moisides is a director, producer and cinematographer sharing his time between both Detroit and Los Angeles. His film career began in Detroit, Michigan in 1992 serving as a motion picture camera assistant on numerous national and regional commercials. Graduating with a film degree in 1996 from Emerson College in Boston, Christos continued his film career in Los Angeles. While working on such Studio feature films as, MINORITY REPORT, XXX, ALONG CAME POLLY and numerous IMAX films, he was elevated in the Independent world of camera operator and director of photography. In 1998, Christos established Colony Films with Christos producing and photographing the feature film, SECOND COMING. Continuing his photographic success, he has accumulated an impressive list of productions behind the camera and producing music videos, concert films, documentaries, short films and commercials. Christos has shot National and International Commercial Campaigns for companies such as General Motors, Mercedes, Aldo Shoes and Dunlop Golf as well as music videos for national hip-hop and rock artists. As producer and executive producer on numerous projects, Christos has been responsible for the fund-raising and distribution of millions of dollars while balancing the responsibilities of art and commerce with unions, city officials and marquee talent.

Johann Finkelmeier – Advisory Board Member

Mr. Finkelmeier is vice president and general manager of Goodyear’s original equipment tires in the company’s North American Tire unit. Goodyear is one of the world’s largest tire companies. He has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, to include Akebono North America executive vice president, global strategy & business development and president of ThyssenKrupp Steel North America, in Detroit. He holds an MBA from the University of Essen in Germany. Mr. Finkelmeier is a passionate aviator holding multiple ratings to includes Single Engine Land, Sea, Instrument, Certified Flight Instructor Glider. When he’s not putting rubber on the road, you can often find him pulling 4-5 Gs in his Yakovlev 52 N52CG.

John Marschner Rickel – Legal & Financial Advisor

Mr. Rickel is a licensed attorney and Managing Director of Rickel & Baun PC law firm. Holds a bachelors of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan. He is a past President of Investment Analyst Society and Worldwide Chairman of the Presidents of CFA Institute with 167,000 CFA Charter holders. He is on the Board of Directors for a number of Michigan Corporations and life member of the Economic Club of Detroit. He has served and maintains executive positions with various charitable and community organizations, to include the Board member of the GP War Memorial and Chairman of the Detroit Presidents’ Organization (the Detroit YPO alumni organization). He is also a licensed instrument pilot and yachtsman in the Detroit River Yachting Association.

William C. Rands III – Advisory Board Member

Mr. Rands is a lifelong resident of Grosse Pointe, and a graduate of Yale University. He is Chairman of the Detroit River Regatta Association which hosts the APBA Gold Cup and managing partner of Sagres Partners, L.P., a private investor partnership. Mr. Rands serves on the boards of Henry Ford Health Care System, Children’s Home of Detroit, Planned Parenthood and Republic Bank. He is also the chair of Michigan Historical Center Foundation. Mr. Rands has created an endowment fund for breast cancer research through the Nathanson Rands Foundation. Mr. Rands is also an active private Pilot.
